ROPE Language Reference - "$ip_version"

This register holds the IP version number for the packet being inspected. It can (currently) be either 4 or 6.

RFC_791 describes this field in these terms..

Version:  4 bits

 The Version field indicates the format of the internet header.

Note: RFC_791 describes IP version 4 - which is fully covered by ROPE. IP Version 6 is not yet addressed by the ROPE module.
